Greetings fellow foodie!
Thanks for stopping by Fishes and Loaves. I hope you find something you will love to cook and share with your friends and family. After much thought I finally decided to create this food blog. Giving it a name was harder than I thought. I resolved to name it Fishes and Loaves for two obvious reasons. Food and Faith.
I’ve always planned to answer the requests of my children to make a cookbook for them of all their favorite recipes. I still plan on creating that cookbook but for now I’ll be blogging and sharing my cooking adventures with all who visit here. I’ll share original recipes and some that have been handed down from my mother and mother-in-law. Then I’ll be adding several that are influenced by chefs and home cooks that have inspired me.
After years of feeding a family of four and cooking up vittles for friends I’ve developed a cooking style that is praised by some and recipes that most anyone would love. It seems there have been many requests for me to do cooking classes and share my recipes with the girls at our church and I’m always sharing recipes with those who love to eat.
I’m a mother of two and wife of one. I live in sunny southern California and enjoy cooking and eating the foods from countries I’ve visited which include China, Japan, England, France, and Mexico. My heritage is French, German and Czech which has influenced my cooking style a bit. I’ll try most anything once and if I’m impressed I usually will learn how to make it or at least try. If it’s a success I’ll try it on my friends so watch out… you could be next!
Enjoy!
